Will Credit card Piggy Backing affect me?

I have good credit 743, My wife has better, around 780 or so, neither of us have any debt besides a mortgage and my wife has a car payment. We use a capitol-one card that is under my wifes name for ALL purchases. It is the only card we have used for 4 years now. We benefit immensly from the miles. We fly twice a year to see her parents for free. I have 3 of my own cards, but I never use them and their respective balances have stayed low, around $5000 because of this.

I have read about FICO and new credit card piggy backing rules. Will this affect me since I have only been using my wifes card for 4 years now?

Will Credit card Piggy Backing affect me?

If you are just an Authorized User and it is not a Joint Account, then when the calculations change you will be effected. As early as September, Fair Issac, the company that does the FICO Score will stop including any accounts where people are Authorized Users.

Now, how much it will be effected really depends on the rest of your report. If this is the only account that would be removed from yours, and you have good credit otherwise you should still be fine. But any guess as to the new score would be just that..a guess.
