Have you ever been 30 days past due on your credit card account?

I have been 30 days late on the account. My credit card account is Chase. I have been 30 days past due. I keep on messing up. I thought the credit card money was emergency money. I end up messing up my credit. I now have 38.99% percent interest. I owe 1,432.24 on my account. The credit limit is $900.00. My credit score is 542. I was only 30 days past due once. My credit score really dropped.

Why do stupid credit card companies ask for the minimum payment. When I am so high in debt.

I am really in debt.

I am a 22 year old male.

Now you know how it works. If you are going to use credit cards, you pay them off every month and ON TIME. Now you are in the position of having to repair your credit rating or you will not get a car loan or a house loan. You need to pay off Chase and cut up that card.

send them $10 every month for the rest of your life. no one pays 39% interest pal, who are you kidding.

Have you ever been 30 days past due on your credit card account?

They ask for the minimum payment because they want you to own them for the rest of your life. Having a balance higher than your credit limit does serious damage to your credit score. If you have ANY extra money, you need to put it towards that debt ASAP. Getting current and within your limit is your most important mission with CHASE. Sorry that you got yourself into this jam...These credit card companies really take advantage of people.

try your best to pay as much off as you can, at least more than the minimum amount, since the interest is so high

once it is paid off cut up that credit card until you have time to go through your budget and get things worked out

you are not stupid- you just need pratice and more guidance with using a credit card- ask your parents for some advice- main thing is to pay it off quick- those rates are crazy high!

good luck

Oh darling - been there, done that. That%26#039;s why they give us so many cards when we are %26quot;young and dumb%26quot;!

That interest rate is way past usery - is that even a legal rate???

I used my cards to pay medical bills, and more medical bills, etc., and since I was too sick to work, I paid the minimum.

The one thing I learned, after the embarrassment of having to file bankruptcy is: NEVER EVER EVER pay the minimum. You will never catch up. You are selling your soul to the already wealthy credit companies by paying minimums.

Always pay more, even if its only a couple dollars more - do it.

I don%26#039;t even want to know what my credit score is - I don%26#039;t ever want credit again, thank you very much - I work with debit cards and lay-a-ways, which is extremely limiting, but . . .

You may want to get in touch with Consumer Credit Counseling Service. They will take your cards and cut them up, but they will also work with the company to lower your interest and payments so you can get caught up. I%26#039;m sure this affects your credit score, but no where near as bad as bankruptcy.

Shop around for the best credit counseling service. This, too, has become a money maker off of others suffering, so educate yourself before signing on with just any credit counseling service.

Good luck and remember - you still have time to get this straight and get your score back up. It%26#039;s gonna take time, but if you ever want to own a house or a car at a reasonable interest rate, you have to go thru the pain now.

Good luck.
