Help with credit card?

Ok, I did debt consolidation over a year ago and have been paying this every month. One of my credit cards that I have been paying wrote it off as bad debt and has not put on my credit report in four years. Should I continue paying it if it%26#039;s going to hurt my credit no matter what and just let it go or is there some kind of letter I can send them to get this fixed? Please help...

Help with credit card?

I%26#039;m a little confused by your question. I think ThyLaywer is also.

Are you paying off these bills yourself or through a third party (ie. debt repair, credit counsoler, etc..)

You must continue to pay the bills if you can. You have established a payment plan, and by their accepting it, you should not have a negative report on your history. At this time it should be reported as Paid as Agreed.

You may want to send a letter outlining your payment plan to them, and request in writing that they do not report anything on your report.

I can%26#039;t give much more advice without first knowing what state you live in. Each state has differant laws regarding debt reaffermation.

Writing the debt off is a tax break for the creditor. It does not affect the debt or its collection. If the debt consolidator is not making payments to that creditor or its successor in interest, you should know. If the consolidator is making payments, the payments should be reported as being made, although it may not be by the original issuer. If you have not had a copy of your credit report in the last year, go to annualcreditreports.com and get your free one from all 3 major credit reporting agencies, and see if the debt has been transferred to someone else and if payments are being reported. If the reports show the transfer but no payments, use the form in the package to request a verification that the debt is being paid.
