$2400 balance on a $500 limit credit card due to financial hardship. How do I get myself out of this

Due to the head of household of my home dying last year I had to pick up a lot of extra financial responsibility which unfortunately meant me disregarding my credit card bills for over a year. I have racked up $2400 in debt due to overages/late fees and I have felt bullied by the credit card companies from the get-go but was too scared to call and explain the situation. My dad or grandfather would co-sign on a personal bank loan with much lower interest so I could pay the credit cards off if I asked them nicely.. is this the right way to go?! The creditors are getting pretty threatening and I really don%26#039;t know what to do, any advice for this 21 year old college student would be greatly appreciated!

if you think you can pay the bank loan off comfortably then I would go for it !! you are only 21 don%26#039;t ruin your credit report by not paying off this card ! pay it asap before they give you a bad report !!

I would ask if your dad or grandfather would just give it to you to send into the credit company. Or to pay away the debt for you and let you make payments to them. Then take it as a lesson learned and you will be fine.

You would do better to borrow the money and pay the debt off and not have to worry about the interest and late charges that the card is accruing on a daily bases. Every day that you owe on the card is adding more and more to the debt. Please do this asap, card companies are horrible when you are late with payments.

Sorry to hear this. Did you try to get job anywhere. Otherwise you may look out for an option to work online. Although it wont pay you like full time job but its good to make some extra cash. Unfortunately the fees and penalties are killing you. I would beg them to pay it in full on your behalf and you prepare your own loan agreement between you and Dad......If they help you, you must pay them off just as quickly as you can....You%26#039;d be very lucky.
